Super 8 wedding films
genuine & nostalgic > posed & polished
What is Super 8?
Super 8 was a movie format invented in 1965 and commonly used for home movies. Itβs still around today and comes on 3-minute film rolls with all the colors and nostalgia of an old home movie from the β60s!
Super 8 is unobtrusive and feels more like a friend documenting the day than an entire production crew, which can be distracting and uncomfortable. It captures beautiful light leaks, soft grain, and a certain feel-good magic that canβt be replicated with digital video, making every wedding film unique!
It's important to know that Super 8 cameras don't capture audio, but we offer the option to add audio recordings of your vows and speeches.
Super 8 service is available with or without booking photography. If my schedule is open, I love to tag along as a second Super 8 videographer to help capture different angles and moments throughout the day.
If traditional wedding videography isnβt your vibe, youβll love how raw, playful, and nostalgic Super 8 wedding films feel.
Meet Max, your Super 8 wedding videographer
My partner Max will capture video on Super8 at your wedding while I take photographs. His approach is candid and relaxed, so his videos feel more like a guestβs perspectiveβcapturing genuine moments rather than a traditional, posed narrative.
After the wedding, we collaborate on the editing to create an authentic and timeless film that tells the story of your day. With a background in studio art, a love for movies and music, and an intuitive eye for meaningful moments, Max's Super 8 films are truly unique!
Our Story
We both studied studio art in college, but our paths didnβt cross until the fall of 2010 when a mutual friend introduced us at a dive bar. Our first date was an art show at a music venue, followed by wine around a bonfire. After graduation, we backpacked through Europe, experiencing the full spectrum of highs and lows that come with travel.
During that trip, we realized we could handle whatever life threw our way. When we returned, we packed up our lives and moved to Austin, TX, without much of a plan. The cityβs vibrant pulseβits music, art, food, and the spirit of possibilityβwon us over quickly. Inspired by it all, I launched my photography business a decade ago.
In 2023, Max joined me on this journey, shooting his first wedding on Super 8 in Mexico. Heβs the peanut butter to my jelly, and Iβm endlessly grateful to have him by my side for all of lifeβs adventures.
